What's more polls like this are meaningless. "Should Biden step down" people are asked after debate. "Why yes, yes he should." A month later, ask same question and get a totally different result.
Polls are meaningless. We have 3 months to GOTV to re-elect Biden/Harris, retake the House, hold onto the Senate & kick Trump & the MAGAe mob to the curb. Retake the whole government & we can address Leonard Leo's theofascist Court & it's anti-democratic pipeline through the South.
Ignore the MSM punditocracy, they've been in the bag for Trump since 2016 & outside of the Philadelphia Inquirer, not one of them has suggested that Trump, a mob money-laundering, serial-bankrupt, disgraced, twice-impeached, adjudicated sexual predator, convicted felon seditionist step aside.
Oh yes, that's a different 45% than the voters polled on which candidate would defeat Trump and none polled above 45% and Biden was at 45%, and as we all know 45% of anything is a uh approximately 5% less than half of something
Methodology matters. The article says "The CBS News/YouGov poll surveyed 1,130 registered voters"
What that means is like, 500 people said he should step down. Which is meaningless.
Also given how pathetic the California legislature has been under his governance, I don't really know how far to the left of Biden he would be, either nominally or functionally.
How do you know he isn't? Anyone who might want to swoop in and get the nomination in a contested convention would publicly support Biden while demonstrating how they would be better at taking on Trump. Newsom has been doing exactly that.
