What makes it so convenient for the parents and teachers blaming you is that there's no always a measurable obvious metric for us "trying" it's an internal mental thing. We can be trying as hard as we can to the point of tears but they can't see it so they assume we're lying & cheating & being lazy

The complicity of so many Republican women in this is far too common and comes from a place that feels somewhat like being a hostage and trying to make the best of it without making too much fuss lest they be punished for daring to speak out against their men.
