I’ve been trying to despair less and act more, especially offline, but man, it’s impossible right now to feel anything but sorrow and fear. We must fight, build, and organize like never before, but goddamn is this such a sad, sad day.

Don’t cling too closely to habits of how and when you write as your life changes over time. Writing demands time and sustained attention, so it’s important to remain flexible when it comes to your creative process if you want your writing to survive and thrive. Also: thank your editors.

Playing a little Dead Cells as a treat for finishing my manuscript word count goal at the end of the day? Nothing beats it.

Me: I need to take a pause on roguelites. I'm just too drawn in by their addictive gameplay loops. Dead Cells and all its DLC for ~$20: 😈

Facebook just reminded me that 15 years ago I drove to Chicago with my dad and tried out for American Idol. We all contain multitudes, each and every one of us.
