"Content" means nothing more than "stuff."
The substance or ‘material’ (whether corporeal or incorporeal) of which a thing is formed or consists, or out of which a thing may be fashioned.
(OED).
"I make stuff for the internet."
Luckily theres usually a few people who see it and go "wow this is the perfect thing, amazing"
I just feel so bad when I see some amazing piece of art and I'm just not fundamentally moved in any way due to my own internet poisoning
Them: "Everything I've done in life has lead to this."
Me: "Neat"
I hate social media for this. A portfolio should be a timeline of glimpses of one's artistic process. Sometimes looking back is great to see how far you've evolved and how you've changed. The empty "more content" shit is just consumerism forgetting what makes art important entirely 😔
The filter has definitely grown much tighter in the past 20 years. But that's only because so many people are being creative and producing unprecedented shit.
i just put this in a group chat with the caption "i know loads of people have done this comic but the haus one is close to hand because i love haus' comics". i thought maybe it would be nice to write that here too so you could see it
