Another truth about smart, charming serial abusers is: they never do it to women who hold any kind of professional power over them. This is why we see so many of their peers, editors, agents, etc. reacting with shock and disbelief when the truth comes out about how they treat women with less power.

I think all the time about the interviewer who asked Meryl Streep “how did you not know about Weinstein” and she was like “I didn’t know because he NEEDED me not to know” it isn’t a character flaw to have been deceived by someone who is a deceit expert cultivating the cover of your faith & goodwill

I feel like panicking and I was not in control of this situation and I could see at least ten instances now where I’d made wrong decisions and being in control of the situation was really important because otherwise it was in control of me

Also I would like to stop crying every 2-3 days, it's horribly distracting

One of my favourite bits of history is how ancient and medieval courts just, had amazing automatons? Mechanical lions guarding the byzantine throne, monks who walked and prayed, and trees full of mechanical songbirds. If you put in a fantasy book they'd say it was unrealistic.

i am less convinced that AI is going to replace jobs than i am that companies are going to cut jobs on the premise of AI replacing them and then hire those people back as contractors for less money and fewer protections, because that’s what’s happened a *lot* in the last 20 years.

It might mean the end of a lot of jobs potentially and the fear is that it might become harder and harder to find new places to land.
