In Iceland we have a word for feeling really guilty for staying inside on a sunny day, because they are so rare and precious. We call it "sólviskubit" and it sounds a lot like "samviskubit" which means having a guilty conscious.
And I am suffering from a sólviskubit right now. 12 32 188
You can also have a "mammviskubit", which means feeling guilty for not being a good enough mother. I get those too. 1 31

We dont have a word for that but as a mother i feel you 1
Well I am sorry that you're experiencing that, but I'm also delighted by that concept and knowing that word now. 1 4
I mean, I could go outside, but I am really tired, so I will just have to live with the consequences. 1 4
As a southern californian in the tail of June, I relate very hard to "it's nice outside and I should appreciate it, but I am just too tired" 1 2
Also my allergies have been so terrible it saps energy like wild 2
It's a balmy 13.5° outside! 1 3
If it's anywhere near as hot as it is here 99°F(37°C) I would say don't feel guilty. 1
Moved from Phoenix to Virginia and I feel that all summer. But, opposite I guess? Not lethally hot outside so I should be out doing something. 1
Have that guilt in Minnesota too.
Is there a related word for the resentment of having to be indoors on a sunny day for work or appointments? 1 1
Nope. And businesses often close due to “sun” on good weather days. 1 3
Great word - takk fyrir! ☺️ 1
I adore your country so much.
Looking forward to my next visit. 1
Don’t and enjoy the freedom of choosing and the feeling of being at the right place at the right moment ; )
We need that to be a common word here in Oregon. Don’t need it today since it’s a drizzly June day.
Totally fine with staying indoors on a sunny day. Less sure about a sunny evening.
