This really works; delete the gobbledegook after your search term (in my e.g. this is q=recipe+for+bread) and add &udm=14 and all the top tips, AI summaries, 'also searched for' and video (1st image) vanishes. You just get actual search results (2nd image).
This is so important and valuable.
A way to get "Google search without the crap." Notably AI crap, which destroys G-search utility.

In practice: After a Google search, click on "Web." You'll get the de-crapped results.
One of the things i enjoy about bsky is that reply guys/helpy posters are still quite rare. 100s of likes and reposts and the “i don’t use google so this doesn’t matter to me / do you know other search engines exist little lady??” responses are *minimal* compared to twitter.
I toggle between DuckDuckGo and Google (as the later choice) because I really don’t want to feed the monster that Google has mow become.
The variance in results is quite revealing too. Understand why some folk need to rely on Google though.
Agree there are times I have to go back. I suspect until DDG gets the increase of usage needed it won’t have enough data to worn with. Catch 22 situation.
The EU should have challenged Google as a monopoly a long time ago (and not some poor imitation like Qwant).
I have heard that you can search Google through DDG by prefacing the search terms with !google and it seems to work but my technical knowledge of such things is zero so I don't know
I _do_ love nice little hacks like these. Not just because they're useful, but also on the general principle of "hack all the things and bend them to your will" =8)
