Why not? Maybe the Democratic Party will see losing an easy layup of an election will make it reconsider its candidates (and their willingness to commit genocide?)
Fairly convinced that they want to lose so they can fundraise and not have to do any actual work. As opposed to their current plan of not doing any work.
I’ve voted for the Democrat in every local, state, and federal election in my life and this is what it got me (in addition to a Democratic Party that is actively racist and hostile against me and my people).
So you can save your cliche sayings, I have 20+ years of empirical fact.
Here's the thing, Chris. I was raised to be a dyed-in-the-wool Dem. My Greatest Gen grandparents worshipped FDR. My Silent Gen parents worshipped JFK & MLK, Jr. I've voted straight-ticket Dem for 44 yrs. You have to give people something to vote FOR and "not as shitty as those guys" isn't that.
You can only go to the that well so many times without actually doing anything for the people who voted for you before they give up on you. Vote shaming does nothing to turn out voters. If you want people to vote Dem, push Dems to be better, don't blame the people who've checked out.
They keep getting worse my whole life..
We should demand better. Not accept the shit the ruling class serves.
The minimum wage is still 7.25 and 2.13 for tipped employees in Texas.
What is the long play here? Stall for project 2029? Then 2033? Do you vote for any dusty skeleton fronting the democrats, hoping they'll change eventually?
What is the actual plan? How will you change the democrats through voting? How do we defeat fascism?
Like, putting aside the horrible shot democrats are doing, just looking at the fight against fascism, or just conservatism broadly, it seems like the liberal plan is just to win every election forever, with no actual plan on how to love the party.
What is the plan?
I don't even care if you vote.
So, Dems win. 4 more years. What do you do during that time? What will they do? What happens the next election?what is your plan until then? Do we just argue hard enough until they change their minds? Do we just tell them how hard we disapprove of them, with no material consequence beyond frowns?
organizing ballot access for third party candidates will get you better candidates my guy. whining about other people’s choices online just makes you look like an asshole actually.
It is SO EASY.
I know like 10 people who live *on my block* I’d trust more than anybody that’s run in either primary in my lifetime.
They work SO HARD to give us no choice but evil “but lesser!”
When we rejected Hillary Clinton, they picked someone more like Trump.
Not voting for their candidate will not cause them to pick a candidate we like, it will cause them to pick a candidate that's more like their rivals.
That's the game.
