So the strategy to reduce gun violence is not to pass gun control legislation but to silence Black people? Do I have that right?
“So she would have the artist turn his lyrics over to the government prior to putting out or promoting any songs he planned to use them in, and at that point if they are deemed to be “inconsistent with the goals of rehabilitation”, prosecutors could ask to modify Dorsey’s supervised release terms.”

Why don’t more people talk about how AI is like a weak, sniveling, parasitic vampire that sucks the blood of content and value from its victims — and then brags about how great it looks after shameless exploitation and victimization of its hosts?

Did y'all see this beauty by Christopher Martin that dropped last month? I fear it got lost in all the Poetry Month goodness. It won the Wandering Aengus Book Award in Poetry and Jenny Sadre-Orafai writes, "Every poem in this collection feels like a revelation."

As publisher at Wandering Aengus, it's a thrill when one of our books releases. Today, Matthew Daddona's debut novel, The Longitude of Grief, makes its way into the world. Kirkus Reviews calls it "a philosophical, intentionally digressive exploration of masculinity, toxic and otherwise."

There's no feeling like holding your new book for the first time. Especially on a #caturday. Zooey doesn't seem very impressed.

Honored to have "Victim Protection" in the latest Superstition Review. Thank you to the editors who called the essay "a haunting look into the life of (a) victim struggling with a broken judicial system that fails to protect them from their tormentor." superstitionreview.asu.edu/issue33/nonf...

Slowly adding ALT text to the photos on my author website. The program doesn't actually allow for ALT text, so I'm adding it as a caption. Might take me a while since I'm doing it in my spare time, but it will be worth it.

The power of poetry!
Something cool (from Erin Reed at the other place): A federal judge ruled that trans and nonbinary teachers in Florida could determine their own pronouns, citing, in closing, “Song of Myself” as an anthem for American self-determination.

Self-driving (and self-crashing) cars and self-instigating WWWIII. What’s next, Mr. Musk?
Ah. Twitter’s AI, Grok, JUST FUCKING MADE UP that Iran is attacking Tel Aviv. It was first seen in the trending column. Bluechecks are running with the story

Exactly. Nothing is inevitable. In addition to the fact that this is a giant plagiarism machine designed to put people out of work - done with contempt for arts and humanities - it’s also a massive water drain. We are wasting a dwindling and precious resource for this shit, too. It needs to stop.

True, true, true...
The goal of misogyny is to reduce women *only* to gendered roles, actions, and meanings. Any pretensions to humanity in women, or any expressions of interiority—like, say, a love of music—must be stamped out and replaced with something pertaining to sex or childbearing.
