this FTC under Lina Khan has been as close as we've gotten to any sort of serious consumer protection enforcement in a long while
I really wish they'd prioritized the Gigi Sohn appointment to the FCC in the same way, but I realize people don't care about telecom media policy anymore
Adobe's blatantly monopolistic practices put the software company I started and ran at the time out of business, but the Obama administration, often advised by Google's CEO, was very monopoly-friendly. Grrrr.
I know some folks are not always thrilled with the execution, but the FTC has done quite a lot for an agency that's been intentionally understaffed, underfunded, and boxed in by corrupt court rulings over the better part of several generations
i don't know why they're not being louder about this type of thing because junk fees have been a particular focus of this administration (which really should be more focused on fixing the post office and immigration law but I digress) and they've made a lot of headway on them
