Remember in 2016 when there was a lot of pressure for Trump to divest from his private business because it's unethical for a president to make money off the presidency especially while in office, but then he just refused to do it and now people don't even really care anymore?

Of all Trump's criminal cases, this was the one where his criminal guilt was most unambiguous. There's no serious dispute that he refused to return documents he had no right to possess, and took steps to obstruct the government from retrieving them.

A longtime post-conviction attorney told me recently that what worried him most about MAGA judges is that federal judges previously saw a reversal as a rebuke. MAGA judges see it as a badge of honor -- and their ticket to a higher court. He said this is wreaking havoc on the rule of law.
