One reason I've been urging people to actually get involved now, well before the election, and build relationships is when/if shit really truly hits the fan, it's gonna be hard to get folks to let you jump into their work as a stranger, especially if you're white, for Very Good reasons.

Are there "no leftist orgs" in your town or are you just a liberal and a security risk?

I think that a lot of people feel lowkey shame about not having an anti-ableist education and so they shit on people who talk about accessibility as a way to deflect. When really they shouldn’t feel shame. Structural ableism intentionally restricts disabled knowledge.

I taught my tween brother how to clear his browser cache but the kids need more! And no I haven't figured out how to walk the line between monitoring and invading privacy yet, because none of my kids have been fluent enough to be socializing online, but I'm hopeful I'll get it sort of right?

I just know you all can find a way to point out that porn bans also ban vital sex ed info, especially for LGBT teens, without implying that most people don’t and shouldn’t care about the hundreds of thousands of poor + working-class women + queer adults who rely on adult content creation for income

When I parent, I also limit screen time, but I feel like a lot of y'all aren't taking into account the fluency our children will need to have personally and professionally. Most adoptees will never tell you what they experienced or how they feel about being adopted. All adoptees are taught from birth to only be grateful and keep everything else to themselves. And many internalize this to the point where they can’t even examine their feelings at all. 🥚

An adoptee can talk forever about systems, incentives, laws, and policies about adoption, but the industry’s propaganda is so powerful that people will reply with “I’m sorry you had a bad adoption experience” like they’re trained parrots. 🦜 🥚
