We really need to get over our society's obsession with thinness. Being too thin may be worse than being too heavy. Some extra body fat helps you get through times of sickness. No body fat means no reserves.
My body consumed 25 lbs of body fat last year when my digestive system was wiped out by a severe allergic reaction to GMO corn. Without that I might not be here.
6ft 270 pounder checking in, I'm obese by BMI standards though I cook most meals & go to the gym at least 3x a week. Just had my annual physical and my labs showed I'm good on everything. BP was 118/78, cholesterol was normal (tho on the high end). Would love to be 30 lbs lighter but I feel healthy
This article is kind of all over the place. I'm pretty sure that "losing just 5% of your body weight improves your health" is from a study where the people started eating many more vegetables and exercising more, so why do we say it's the weight loss that helped and not the lifestyle changes?
