The thing about Plum is that several times a day, we will hear a distinct muffled, repeated yowl as she comes up the stairs. At the top of the stairs she deposits whatever item she has decided to carry to us— usually one of her sushi toys
I don't remember where I read it but supposedly cats bring gifts of food because you seem to be so bad at catching your own dinner, from a cat's perspective
NinaCat does that, too, but with one specific toy — a Rosie Rat that’s so spit soaked we call it Manky. She brings us Manky all the time.
The one time I washed Manky, she was so offended she wouldn’t touch Manky for weeks.
My cats have several toys that are fish and every single night, my older cat (Kalla) will hunt and 'kill' a toy fish and then carry it to us while yowling triumphantly. As soon as we praise her she drops it and does this super cute high pitched meow. It's the best.
Makes me think of Harpo www.youtube.com/@rainsurname...
His deal is that he brings all sorts of things to his human, and vocalizes a lot. He'll even pull paper off the fridge and deliver it. His human maybe noticed his proclivity for bringing things and trained him up for it.
