Initially I wasn't sure how I felt about the calls for Biden to step down but now I'm just like... he should fucking do it and Harris should replace him and let's move the fuck on
What bugs me is how her time as a prosecutor “defines” her. Not b/c I agree w/her actions (I don’t) but b/c as a SAA I know minority women in corp or politics don’t have the privileges of white men. I believe her to be more progressive but she wouldn’t be here if she had presented as prog then.
Harris didn’t run a great primary campaign but I see no reason she couldn’t run now as “Generic Dem” and I think Generic Dem has a great shot at beating Trump. And she has a lot more stamina than Trump does, she can outhustle him in a way Biden can’t.
Yeah people are like "you think they won't find something to hammer her on" and of course they will, but we need someone with the (at least plausible) ability to fight back.
I understand that people are very scared that White backlash and male backlash might hurt her, but male backlash already hurt Clinton (who still only lost narrowly), and we are in a post-Dobbs, post-#MeToo era. I think Harris is in a unique position to make a values-based case against Trump.
A woman against the sex pest responsible for ending abortion rights. A child of immigrants against a man who wants to deport millions of them. A career prosecutor against a convicted criminal. It just makes sense.
Right, a lot of people arguing she does seem to think that Clinton's baggage was just "she's a woman and unlikable," but there was a lot more than that! Decades of negative media coverage. Whole books written to skewer her. Clinton derangement syndrome was a thing.
