Oh, I didn't think about that. It wouldn't shock me! I do think I also read somewhere recently that federal sentences under a year don't get reduced for good time--but I wouldn't actually know.
In my experience it just takes about a week for state inmate databases to figure that info since you don’t just need to know sentence but any time served already and any additional good time calc. (If applicable).
My understanding is that eligibility for halfway house placement is only available to the 366-day inmates. A couple of guys I knew ended up in prison for mortgage fraud and I thought that sentence sounded petty until I looked it up, and IIRC at least one of them was only in *prison* for six months.
He has another trial coming up in September. For fraud, i think. The build the wall shit.
