It's also contradicted by polling. I think you can reasonably claim that it's impossible or would be a mistake to change candidates, but the argument that this is exclusively an elite phenomenon is not supported by the evidence.

A lot of people are choosing to look away right now in the face of something that is making Doctors Without Borders say things like this

"Biden is totally cogent and has still somehow managed to convince the media class that he is unelectable" is apparently an argument for keeping him as the nominee.

I like no one even tries to pretend Biden isn’t mentally there anymore. The case is just “Biden must go because he won’t recognize the intrinsic wisdom of us, the media class, which has never been wrong about anything and believes he’s unelectable”

You don't get to be a successful politician conditional on there being a different media from the one that currently exists.

I think reasonable people can disagree about the best course of action, but I've yet to see an argument for keeping Biden that acknowledges the current situation and describes how he would overcome it.

Applied micro/metrics tweeps, I have data on 1000s of school districts, each with a variable observed in six years. I'd like to identify district-specific policy changes as clear breaks in that variable. Any best practices for IDing obs with clear such "shocks" given N=6?

Yes, I mean don't get me wrong, public health outcomes and food insecurity have been very bad under the Tories, but the OP's interpretation of that chart is I think flat wrong for a number of reasons.

I've actually dug into this a bit because it does look shocking. The source is a combination of multiple datasets with trends that don't show up in national data. The sources are not constant across time, so I think this is likely a composition effect.

20k years ago biome map. This map has so much human history, one feature of interest is the amazon being a tropical grassland (or at least the rain forest is at a low ebb) The time scales here get so weird, theyre too big to digest, related phenomena could be separated by like 10k years
