when people say "Elon's ownership doesn't affect me, I just use the chronological feed" they elide the other side of this which is that which of your posts the site shows are chosen by the nazis now.
I don't think it's a coincidence that a bunch of the left wing people I know who still seem to be happy with posting on Twitter are posters who spend most of their day posting anti-Biden-from-the-left stuff that the site's owner would like to promote as well.
Having some of your posts do well and other posts get buried creates feedback loops in human minds (especially the sort of mind a lot of addicted posters have) which reinforces belief in whatever it is the algorithm chooses to promote.
I post anti-Biden-from-the-point-of-view-of-being-against-genocide on this site, and I see tons of other leftists of my stripe. Are there left wing people who are actually for Biden? I mean, they might vote for him in the end, but they aren't for him, just against Trump.
My posts the have done the best on the old site since enshittification are decidedly not in keeping with 310n’s politics & definitely not beneficial to any right wing cause.
They’ve done well with people who haven’t migrated due to the social media hassle equivalent with changing schools.
The only thing I use Twitter for is looking for baseball highlights and liveblogs of Trump's trial. The way that Nazi bluechecks get pushed to the top of the replies makes it absolutely unusable for any kind of discussion. The replies on the trial liveblogs are utterly deranged.
I've been periodically going through and deleting all of my posts. It only lets me delete about 2,000 posts at a time, so I still have 10k posts there, but because the site is irretrievably broken they only refresh once a month or so. So my page is completely empty even with thousands to delete.
Even for someone like me who only used the chrono feed, the entire experience was degrading so much. DMs disappearing, likes not working, posts getting shadowbanned for no apparent reason, and the CONSTANT deluge of bots.
i have significantly better mental clarity not being on that website hours a day anymore and some people who remain there genuinely are scared of confronting how bad of a place they spend so much time is.
yeah def the only people left on twitter are

• the clueless
• people who are convinced they have an Audience™
i (a measly 4k twitter followers) barely crack 100 impressions on anything i post there since musk; there's no point (and no point paying either to broadcast to also-paying chuds)
My feed was super-tightly buttoned down. I never saw nazi stuff.
But I'm not going to generate content that helps contribute to that site's viability. Gab 2.0 can just go on without me.
