I have no idea the best path re Biden but I do know a solid week straight of “Biden Old” and “Rich Dems Worried” above-the-fold stories are *obscene* in the face of SCOTUS using the Constitution to wipe their asses purely in the service of reinstating a felon rapist as president. that the whole project is at serious and maybe fatal risk if trump is imprisoned or loses in the fall and that conservatives on the court have a duty to try to prevent that any way they can, through the most motivated reasoning they can conjure.

I don’t think it’s an exaggeration at all to say the decision threatens the Republic. I might not have said so in 2015, before I saw how triumphantly lawless and autocratic the President could be, and how so many people would applaud it or at least shrug.

My friend and colleague Ken White has written a great thread describing some (but far from all) of the enormous problems with today's decision by Chief Justice Roberts granting Donald Trump criminal immunity on grounds never before accepted by any court. Today's decision threatens the Republic.

Norms are great, norms are amazing, norms are what stop us from cracking open each other's skulls and feasting on the goo inside. But, sadly, if you're fighting in defense of norms versus someone who's trying to tear them down, you're inherently fighting with one hand tied behind your back

Trying to take this claim seriously and not dunk on this person, but: the 2016 election had very close margins thus was overdetermined. There are a dozen different things that could have gone differently that would have changed the result, we can actually all be correct here when assigning blame
