You don’t get a column at the Post for being smart or thoughtful. I’d bet 90% of their traffic is hate reading and people like me posting their trash and commenting, “Look at this asshole.”

A good editor would get this piece and hand it back with “finish reading the Wikipedia entry for the 1968 election and revise” written in the margin instead of publishing it.
