I think they might.
You have to remember for some of them it's a way of bringing their god back to earth because this god is apparently all-power but beholden to mortal geo-political machinations and divisions.
I think they would if they were losing and forced to surrender land.
There was a land swap agreement, in 1993 maybe, where Israel traded a tiny bit of land back to Palestinians for another bit. They bulldozed the topsoil layer off and away before the surrender.
I mean, I remember one Israeli minister floated the possibility and was only put in time out for about 5 minutes
Pretty sure he doubled down on the idea a couple months later too
That "clarification" came later as it was the navy that hung the banner, not Bush's people because it was just that ship's mission had been accomplished you see.
Of course they didn't realize Iraq was a quagmire until Obama, then it suddenly wasn't mission accomplished at all!
he literally said, “Major combat operations in Iraq have ended. In the battle of Iraq, the United States and our allies have prevailed.”
not the Gettysburg address, but still one of the foundational presidential orations of our time
Standing in front of a giant "Mission accomplished" banner that he would go on to lie about it, just like the WMD and just like how major combat operations in Iraq continued.
I take offense at the facts on the ground that necessitated the question. I take offense at the logic that reflexively answers a question about massacred children with any variation of “doesn’t Israel have a right to defend itself?” I’m offended we’re helping others repeat our post-9/11 atrocities.
