I think the general “logic” goes, “well if they lied about this then they probably lied about X”

I believe the dogma on this is that The Jews made up the Holocaust in order to trick the world into feeling sorry for them for some reason - either so they could found Israel or so they could more effectively mastermind the extermination of white people or whatever the hell Nazis think they do.
When you see a Nazi suggest that a smaller number of Jewish people were killed in the Holocaust, what they’re really saying is that The Jews are dirty rotten liars who deserve to be exterminated and it’s a damn shame the original Nazis didn’t finish the job.

Yeah, the insidious thing about this sort of revisionism is that it doesn't need to be a "full" denial, but it leads people to then presume that Jewish people made up the larger number for some nefarious purpose.
Exactly. In fact, it’s a strategic move to suggest the holocaust did happen but just at a smaller scale because it gives them plausible deniability as “just asking questions.” They might believe (or say to each other) that no Jewish people were killed and still publicly say the Holocaust happened.
