Jack’s fondly-remembered reign at twitter included a lot more of this chaos promotion than we like to think of these days. a really good sign of how terrible musk is at running twitter is how goddamn competent he makes the old regime look! mostly bc jack had to bow to the board and advertisers, it wasn’t jack himself… he was always clearly pro-fash I don’t remember it fondly. More an irritating semi-benign neglect, which only looks good in hindsight compared to today’s malevolent weaponization. I think the story of how Jack specifically enabled Elon while running Twitter has yet to be told. When the pitch is "At least I'm not Musk" it's time to bring back dick costolo The best PR move Jack ever did for himself was handing the keys to Elon. Attending silent treats was a good move too, because you can't tweet nonsense while at a silent retreat. Weird muting behavior on quote posts, even your text was flagged with the mute warning despite you not being muted
