Bilbo left Frodo the ring on his eleventy-first birthday yes, but there's a huge gap in time between then and when Gandalf returns to tell Frodo to go to Rivendell.
I believe it is approximately correct for the age of his corporeal form. The issue is Bilbo and Frodo’s ages don’t line up with the canonical fact that Bilbo is exactly 78 years older than Frodo.
I literally read this and thought "Did someone try to get ChatGPT to make up some sort of AITA post for karma credit or something?" before looking at the comments and realizing it was a LOTR thing. I've read the books and watched the movies, but I retained nothing about specific ages apparently.
The fun part of character ages is that Aragorn — the dude leading the armies of the Free People of Middle Earth in battle - is 87 years old and after he is crowned & marries Arwen, they rule Gondor & Arnor another 122 years. He died aged 210.
I know the ring has corrupted every mortal who has ever put it on but have you considered that I am different, and better? Maybe even better than Sauron
reading the comments is a great reminder of why one should not initially respond to posts of which they do not quite understand. like me in this instance.
NAH, and no point in obsessing over the shiny object. Take long walks, touch grass, broaden your support network. I'm sure a way can be found to live up to both your friend's scruples and your uncle's wishes. Remember, you were meant to have the ring (and not by its maker)--an encouraging thought.
