I loved this and wanted to create a little comic for it. This is how I imagined the exchange going. I hope you like it @neilhimself.neilgaiman.com βΊοΈ
"We were the first companion," the dog said, "the first ally and friend."
"Well done you," the cat said.
"After us, the humans befriended cows, sheep, goats, and pigs."
"Humans domesticated so many animals."
"And you."
"Us?" the cat said. "We only domesticated one. Humans."

No-Filter Birthday selfie. This is 45. π€
For my birthday, I'd be SO grateful if y'all could signal-boost & support LET'S MISBEHAVE, a Jazz-age romp of a show about queer & trans folks navigating their joy, it's sweet & fun & the woman I play is bonkers-delightful! Make it happen: tinyurl.com/lmlrh
When you wish you had the cheekbones for That Haircut. (Also known as "I Will Probably Never Get A Pixie Cut for Many Reasons, One Of Which Is Cheekbone Configuration.")
Today, I practiced self care by playing both Fae Farm and Cozy Grove (yay for cute/slightly spooky gaming), doing laundry & dishes, & enjoying a very nice couple of cocktails & sharing a bottle of wine & a steak dinner (that I did not have to cook) with my husband. #ThisSparksJoy
Not getting this is part of how you get people insisting that right-wingers arenβt βreal Christiansβ, which lets them off the hook and erases the real harm that form of Christianity has done
I donβt like those people, as a Christian I have very little in common with them, but theyβre Christians too
I am super happy with how this little guy turned out.
I finished my Citrus Sunrise spool by printing out about 15 sets of little orange dragon eyeballs, so now I'm printing a bunch of little eyeless dragons. I love that the eyes just snap in place, so no glue is needed. #3DPrinting#Dragons
You can block anyone on here. Yes, even big and popular accounts. Even members of your own demographic. Even nice people whose posts pain you in some way. You can block me. You don't owe anyone your time and peace of mind. Absolutely no one. Protect yourself π
be less afraid to create clumsy comics. awkward tangents. amateur lettering. weird sequentials and pacing. You Can Just Make it. you dont need to be trapped in a cycle of perfectionism and imposter syndrome when you could have a finished work instead. print that thing out and staple it!!!
HAPPY PRIDE MONTH! π³οΈβππ³οΈββ§οΈ
Reminder that now, as our voices are being silenced, it is more important than ever to read and share queer and especially trans stories.
Here's a thread of trans authors, many of them indie, sharing their writings. Please consider supporting AND READING as many as you can.
On that note:
Trans authors (I mean authors who are trans, NOT cis people who write about trans people), drop your book links here and I'll try to repost as many as I can throughout the day.
Cis people: Repost trans authors' book links.
Cis people who want to complain about being excluded: gtfo
Oh god, so much this. So much beautiful work, finally beginning to represent a decent range of communities, and most of it gets a brief flare of attention with online publication, and earns the writer less than the minimum wage. If theyβre lucky.
Itβs a goddamn shame that short speculative fiction is at its creative peak now, when its markets are in economic shambles.
I wish 1920s-80s levels of SFF money were available now to finance beautiful and gay and provocative genre fic, instead of during the libertarian-punches-his-way-to-Mars era.
Sending much love to everyone today, if today is a day of gratitude for a good dad, a tough day if your dad is less than awesome, or if youβre one of those dads doing the best they can.
Withheld if youβre a crappy dad, though.
Maybe you don't have to "earn" safety. Or rest. Or support.
Maybe those who conditioned you to believe you have to "earn" those things had an interest in you constantly striving & sacrificing to please & accommodate them.
They looked at the damaged limb.
"You need to send me back to the factory," the robot said.
"We have a workshop here at the farm."
"I am not allowed to repair myself."
"Can you show me how to do it?"
"You'd do that?"
"I don't want to risk they decide it's cheaper to scrap you."

I see age discourse has begun again. Until I was 50, I never considered writing or art. In the 8 years since, I have written 13 novels, 30 stories, & raised my art skills from near zero to something well above that. I continue to learn & improve & hope to do so until the day I die. Never too late.π
I made this Pride flag using only NASA images and our team thought it would be cool to share on social (I work on the NASA heliophysics communications team), but it's getting all sorts of hate on the bird app and Fbook. Thought y'all might be more appreciative of it here. βΊοΈπ³οΈβππ
Let me be real clear before the bad faith squad shows up: I am absolutely not talking about identifying how different groups are oppressed differently/to different degrees, or how multiple marginalizations work. I'm talking about "X isn't queer because they're not oppressed like Y."
