Great thread! As a straight cis dad driving a Subaru, which hardware store to shop has always posed a conundrum. Agree about spooky season at craft stores, Orange and Black, I'm in! I would add the relatively rare miniature #wargamer found snuffling through _all_ the shelves muttering "Terrain?"
Look, I’m guessing you need this as much as I did—the tumblr heritage post about native fauna of hardware stores has been updated for craft stores: “Beware a roving pack of domesticated quilters. They fear nothing” #crafters #homedepot 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈 www.tumblr.com/brandyschill...

Bloody Buron: Highland Light Infantry vs the 12th SSyoutu.be On July 8, 1944, the Highland Light Infantry of Canada (HLI) attacked and captured the village Buron, west of Caen during Operation Charnwood. The battle was the HLI's first battle in Normandy. The fighting was so difficult with such high casualties that battle became known as Bloody Buron. In my day job, I work on vote.gov. We’re currently working on an accessible form filler tool to help people register to vote — see it at vote.gov/national-vot... This is open for comment right now in the Federal Register. Comments of all kinds are helpful. www.federalregister.gov/documents/20...

Holy cripes. I wasn't paying attention to this scandal then or really now, but Annalee's article is chilling. I really hope this isn't the future of being online, but this stuff grows like a cancer and is really hard to stop.
There's something that everyone gets wrong about the Ashley Madison data dump from 2015. And I should know, because I was one of the reporters who broke the story. It's my latest for @[email protected] (sign up for a free account to read). www.newscientist.com/article/mg26...

Pet peeve that bothers me more than it should: "Over and out" in Military Fiction It's Over = "I am done talking, do you have anything else to add?" Or Out = "I am done talking and this communication is complete." So Over and Out = "Do you have anything else to say? Too bad, I'm not listening."
