another reminder, mostly for me: I know it feels like watching the news or scrolling social media is doing something important but the world benefits more from your mental health and ability to send a text to someone you know who maybe is caught up in things saying you're thinking of them

Had to have The Jewish talk with my kid, which was: Some people commit horrible Atrocities on their own people, then blame the Jews Never an easy conversation

Not a single thing that can support Palestine involves hate attacking Jews in the street. Not a single one . There’s no “what about” The people doing this are usually attacking Muslims next. And no Jewish person needs to prove fuck all to you to deserve not being attacked Fuck off

Call me Ken. Some years ago—never mind how long precisely—having little or no money in my purse, and no Barbie, I thought I would sail about a little and see the watery part of the world.
We were somewhere around Barbie on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold.

Fascinating, but what strikes me is most voluntary participants were older white women Most people can't admit having long COVID, for job or personal reasons Instead of fighting COVID, we made it taboo https://www.washingtonpost.com/wellness/2023/07/26/long-covid-brain-function-cognition-memory/

A weird thing about "nothing" In Shakespeare's time, nothing was a popular slang term for a woman's private parts Whenever you hear "nothing" in Shakespeare, it is ALWAYS a pun It's no coincidence his best female roles are in "Much Ado..." I'm deciding whether to mention this in a phone review

I like it here and I don’t think a mega corp Twitter clone can kill spaces like these. There is a high level of original thought and engagement, people care about each other and maintain a strong space minimizing bad faith, harassment, and disinfo, which lets people be themselves & build community

This is unbelievable It was "2023-24 to 2024-25" and he vetoed the second "20" and the "-" to make it "2023-24 to 2425" The greatest linguistic victory in history https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/wisconsins-democratic-governor-guts-republican-tax-cut-increases-school-funding-for-400-years
The Wisconsin legislature sent Governor Tony Evers a bill to expand funding for students through the 2024-25 school year. But in a stunning move Evers used his veto power to remove the “20” and the dash, and make the law active through 2425.
