A squirrel that lives in a tree outside my front window sits on the sill & looks for me. I keep a can of unsalted nuts by the door & when he hears it open he scrambles right up for his handful. So cute.
Don't recommend. My grandmother used to do this and then when she went on vacation, the squirrels shredded the railing on the deck and ripped the screen off the patio door.
If you feed the birds, they'll get their treat, so maybe just do that?
it depends if you're in a built up area... in the countryside, go ahead! teach generations to trust you!
but you can't be sure other people won't let their kids or pets hurt them..
On the flip side is there anyway to stop your neighbour from putting out huge quantities of peanuts and attracting squirrels and assorted other less desirable fauna?
