I support President Joe Biden. I wish a lot of things about the debate, and I wish he had done better. Even if I wish we had different choices, in both parties, Biden is a good President for us. 1/

She’s not my state representative anymore, but it’s always great to be in the room with @rebeccakislak.bsky.social. Thank you for all you do to move the clean energy economy in Rhode Island forward.

I saw the bus pass by 2 min early as I was hurrying to catch it. But that’s ok because there’s another one soon. We need more high frequency routes ❤️

Lippitt Hill, where University Heights is today, off of #NorthMainStreet, was a densely populated neighborhood that was redeveloped/bulldozed as a part of “urban renewal” in the 1960s. Many people who lived there, mostly Black, were displaced and did not benefit from the redevelopment.

I submitted testimony to House Finance today that calls on the committee to reject the proposed changes to the budget that would undo the rental registry that the legislature passed just last year. We passed it for a reason, we should do it. See my letter for more.

I just learned that famous abolitionist Frederick Douglass, included in this picture of famous people in RI Black History, attended an abolitionist conference in Woonsocket in 1841. #RIBlackHistory #BlackHistoryMonth

The @RISecState‘s gallery space in the basement of the state house is fantastic! The RI Black Historical Society has a display for #BlackHistoryMonth. In this beautiful collage, we see many famous Black Rhode Islanders, including Edward and Christina Banister and Siseretta Jones.

I was proud to join 25 other state reps at a press conference for the 2024 Working Families Agenda. This set of priorities will help ensure that Rhode Islanders—no matter our color, background or zipcode—have the funding and protections they need to care for their families and communities.

For folks who have decided to go straight to despair before our presidential election has really started (yes, the sideshow is large. Yes, everyone loves writing articles about trump supporters).... I'd really encourage you to find a cause/interest/battle and fight.

IMO, progressives need to get better at tapping into the nostalgic longings of voters in order to make their case. Remember when kids could go to school and not have to worry about being randomly shot? Remember when you didn't have to worry if today's children would inherit an uninhabitable planet?
