The problem with institutionalists is that when the institutions fail, they’re forced to defend failed institutions (or stop being institutionalists, but that’s like a road to Damascus miracle)
what if instead of "packing" the justices were matched to the judicial districts of the usa? ya know, like it used to be? and then legally tie it to that number
The ACLU likes to pride itself on playing the game by the rules for both teams to ensure no one cheats, but we aren’t even in the game anymore, let alone overtime.
David Cole thought it was a good idea to accept an invitation to FedSoc's 2022 convention (post Dobbs!). Severely bad judgment when it comes to dealing with the right wing legal movement
I used to occasionally donate to them, but then they did something I don't even remember what it was & that was it for me. I just got a fundraising email & deleted it without looking. It's a pity bc we need a powerful legal lobby.
I had a recurring donation to them for a while, but I canceled it because they started sending DAILY letters asking for more donations. Classic nonprofit trap where fundraising becomes more important than the actual work.
So because republicans could theoretically do something at an undefined future date, everyone else cannot do anything to stop them from instituting fascist bullshit. Great plan bud
It's more like the Democrats want to play by the rules of the game, but this is not the game. The game is over. This is the beat down in the parking lot after the game and the ref has joined in.
Cool
Anyways, Trump and his Supreme Court are instituting fascist bullshit and the current tactic of “not expanding the SC whatsoever” is failing to stop it
It just keeps fucking going.
Why won't it stop fucking going?
Another one, and another one, and another one, it just never fucking stops...
I'm just watching the world fall apart and all I can do is stare, because there's just nothing better to do, anymore.
... Yes, I've been touching grass...
