Long elections waste immense amounts of money. they harass potential voters into apathy. They play into the horse-race, scandal-fed view of politics that feeds deeply unserious media coverage. They NOT INCIDENTALLY make it difficult/impossible for campaigns to deal with last-minute surprises.

note how long it took the French from calling the election to holding not 1 but 2 votes? and organizing the shit out of the second one? LESS THAN ONE MONTH A national election does not have to be a painful 1.5-2 year process! the US election campaign should quite honestly not even have started yet!!

Art sky! Does anyone have any suggestions for iPad or drawing tablets that run under $350 or so? Would be looking to run something like CSP or Krita, maybe limited/low ram animation. Paper feel not necessary but pen that works well with control and pressure with paper feel sticker preferred.

my hot take is that the president should be and live like a normal human, and so I reject the premise that the president must work 130 hour weeks and never be well-rested. he has dozens of staffers who can cover shifts!

I think that maybe the President should be well rested and sleep more if he's making dozens of critical decisions each day. Believe it or not, he has a few staffers who can wake him up if needed.

Love getting paid biweekly and watching 97% leave my account immediately to cover bills surely this is sustainable for the economy long term.

What gives me hope are the normal people trying to save things. People running for school board against moms for liberty freaks, college kids protesting, local newsrooms investigating corruption etc. They inspire but also make me pissed off at the powerful people/institutions that won’t defend them
