Some of Tate's behavior hints he's aware of these jokes & finding ways to reword them as serious in his pitch to followers, yet at the same time he's so invested in this grift that that the distinction between sincere & BS has evaporated. Not even he knows.

This is, of course, being charitable towards Tate who clearly has some cult leader aspirations.
The cult leader always ends up believing their grift. Even Jim Jones didn’t start out thinking he was literally the Messiah, but it was inevitable he’d get there.
These sorts of male influencers have been more or less saying that recently.
They want young men to be alone and resentful, but it's really hard to convince them that women are succubi and beasts solely for breeding if they're romantically involved with them.
