A post-debate, New Hampshire poll by St. Anselm:
wmur.com/article/poll...
Trump up 44% to 42% over Biden.
(Biden led by 10% in their last poll, in December.)
54% of those who are aware of the debate say Trump won; 6% say Biden won.
Who are these people who see a choice between 2 administrations with many dramatically different views (women's rights, LGBTQ rights, religion in govt, infrastructure, etc,) and think "I'm cool either way, but the lying one had more energy, and I liked that."?
1) They aren't affected or don't think they are.
2) They mostly don't pay that much attention to politics.
3) They think everyone is exaggerating about dangers and it's just vibes.
etc.
Honestly? All the people going on about "bad choice vs worse choice".
I'm seeing a repeat of 2016 here with "Hahaha of course I don't support Trump" *spends all summer and fall talking about how bad the Democratic candidate is*.
Those numbers would like have contracted irrespective of the debate. But it’s actually better for Biden if that’s just post-debate shellshock because, like all scandals these days, it will have a shelf life of a week or two.
Biden/Harris put together a great and effective administration. They are good at hiring the right people. Unlike Trump who only learned to fire people. We voted for an administration to run our Dem party, and we have this. Joe is sound and Harris is capable. That's my team.
DNC spox denied that report. And you can call it wishcasting, but to me the real wishcasting is pretending there isn't a huge problem with continuing on with Biden.
I hate Biden. And I hate the DNC. They are who they have showed themselves to be. Not utterly corrupt like their opponents but not up to this or any other task that protects the country or those who are most vulnerable. Idk what to say. They will nominate Biden.
This survey really highlights why response bias is such a problem for polling right now.
81% of respondents *watched* the debate, and 99% of the respondents had heard something about it!
