I prefer to think it's taste rather than snobbishness (exactly what a snob would say!), but a big one for me is t-shirt brands (i.e., the shirt itself, not whatever is printed on it).

I just spend two amazing days bumming around Roman ruins in the south of Italy, so my contributions to #CephalopodWeek are these two absolutely stunning more-than two-thousand-year-old mosaics from the apodyterium (changing room) of the women’s baths at Herculaneum
We have plenty of pigeons in Honolulu, but one of the few native birds that lives in the city does something similarly goofy: the manu-o-kū (fairy tern) just leaves its egg sitting on a bare branch. Of course, it's (ancestrally) used to remote islands free of any predators, so...

New social account, new paper!
We explored Hawaiian mesophotic reefs with tech diving and eDNA and found strong depth-based biodiversity zonation, with community breaks at ~45–60 m across the tree of life.
