Me heading into the weekend

Emily Brontë's one-of-a-kind masterpiece has survived a lot of bad adaptations (not to mention bad biopics like the regrettable 2022 Emily) & it will survive this one too. But also ... whyyyy is the worst screenwriter ever to win an Oscar adapting one of the English language's greatest novels, ugh.

The first thing I thought of was the sex scene near the beginning of Nicolas Roeg's 1973 horror masterpiece Don't Look Now. One of the great examples of a nude scene that does far more than just provide a hot eye-candy interlude, even if Sutherland & Julie Christie were both plenty easy on the eyes.

Since we're still talking about flags: I can't stop perseverating on the name "Dutch Sheets", a right-wing author & activist who was going around pushing for the display of that pine-tree flag Alito flew to show his support for Christian theocracy. A flag enthusiast ... named ... Dutch Sheets!?

I don't know if this is the fault of AI or sloppy editing, but this Fandango page for a Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2 rep showing that's randomly illustrated with a still from Meet Joe Black is so dispiriting. Does that mean the showtimes on the page are wrong too? Why would I trust anything here?
