Currently reading Katherine Cross's LOG OFF, which is fantastic so far.

Put on the P.S. Eliot discography to do some work to and soon enough my primary thoughts were not of work but were instead, "hot damn this band was good."

Watched the end of Venezuela/Canada and immediately went into "MUST HAVE MORE SOCCER" mode. Which is good, because I'm now watching Portland/San Diego and the second half has been some excellent soccer as well.

Great books both!

Seeing a bunch of posts about the 40th anniversary of "Zen Arcade" and "Double Nickels" and I feel like it's worth pointing out Jim Ruland's SST book and Mike Fournier's 33 1/3 on the Minutemen. Maybe worth a re-read or a first read!

Eventually you have to come to grips with the basic truth that people are just people and not purely good or evil and thus much more interesting, and that the world of narrative opens up quite a bit once you stop trying to make some hypothetical supremely good person the protagonist of every story
