For those who don't know: this is James Timpson of Timpson key cutters/shoe repairs/dry cleaners. His company employs ex-convicts and even runs work training programmes in prisons. Genuinely inspired choice.

If your area got a new Labour MP then it is your duty to email them and say that you are happy the Tories are out but that transphobia should have no place in the party. Make Starmer gently walk back his support for Rowling's position!

Yesterday, I was walking through my neighbourhood (Lewisham - a strong Labour seat) and saw something which gave me pause. I realised I'd only seen one Labour poster in a window. We know enthusiasm is low, but that really drives it home. That implies something about turnout, which makes me worry.

I went to a great gig last night. What sticks with me is its conclusion, which I adored. All the music cut out and the singer's vocal line jumped several octaves to exhilarating effect! It ended on a high note.

When I originally started these, I was just doing something pithy, but then realised I probably should hint at what the person actually can do, which is suddenly a lot. more work.

I was resisting posting this thing (which I can hardly believe exists!) but Andrew’s last point here deals with the main objection

There was recentlyish a lot of talk about Cerebus, which was a great comic except when it wasn't. There's now a Humble Bundle collecting the whole thing. If you want to read it legally, but don't want to give money to Dave Sim, you can click "custom amount" and just pay the charity, not Sim.
