What the name says. Some accounts on the list are truly horrible all the time and some just made a muteworthy skeet one time. This list is in no way affiliated with or endorsed by Jamelle Bouie or anyone other than myself.
Someone please create a list of idiots who made crappy comments when Jamelle said he thought—not that regular ice cream is bad—but that he liked ice cream that was vegan.
I think this is about the post where that person said they enjoyed a vegan ice cream not because they were vegan but because they liked that one and they tried to limit animal fats in their diet. There was a later post from them that said they'd deleted that post because of the weird replies.
That's like a "pineapple doesn't belong on pizza" type take. It may be fun to pretend that vegan ice cream is an affront to humanity, but only if it's good natured. If people take it seriously or it turns into a pile-on, it ceases to be funny.
The more important takeaway here should be that just because someone is a big account, you don't get to use their mentions as an all-purpose gathering place to be annoying.
Exactly. Too often people think of big accounts as brands and forget that they're actual people. Or they conflate fandom with friendship and try to make jokes that are fine among friends, but creepy when made by hundreds or thousands of strangers.
