Do you suppose they would miss just one little lamp?

Showed my students In the Mood for Love (2000) and they loved it.

I taught my students about the Hayes Code just last week.

What if you had a beautiful Tiffany lamp that's now worth an ungodly amount of money?

JD Vance is on the ticket because he wants the government to kill trans people. Vance has been more vocal in his transphobia than just about any other leading VP candidate. That's a deliberate choice by Team Trump.
J.D. Vance's horrendous record of homophobia and transphobiawww.advocate.com Donald Trump's vice-presidential pick hasn't been a senator long — but he's been in the public eye long enough to accrue a strongly anti-LGBTQ+ record.

That person insisting the NYT is a "Nazi organization" is completely off the wall.

More from WIRED: Armed militias in the US are using Facebook to recruit in the wake of the weekend's events, despite Meta claiming to ban this activity. Meta did not respond to a request for comment.

amazing to see the National Catholic Reporter writing what the mainstream/legacy press can't find it in them to print, which is that the GOP's abortion platform is rank bullshit that doesn't leave anything up to the states and is only meant as a cynical play for votes
Party platforms and abortion: Why Trump's backtracking won't matterwww.ncronline.org Although the GOP's platform will not include support for a nationwide limit on abortion, "No one should expect the pro-life movement to abandon the GOP," writes NCR's Michael Sean Winters.

You literally called him "house-trained." 😬😬😬😬

We'll have to ask the Marshal of the Supreme Court to arbitrate that one.

When you really want to use the term "Uncle Tim" without actually using the term "Uncle Tom." 😬😬😬 Holy shit. Guess who this post is about?
And also - it's not like we're losing an insightful voice here, he's just a generic, dull liberal platitude merchant who works for the NYT, a house-trained, tame left-liberal whose primary role is to give the NYT the superficial appearance of pluralism.

Oh, I see your angle now. You're just a raging asshole. Never mind then.

You can build new institutions while trying to change the old ones from within and without. It isn't an either/or one-size-fits-all proposition.
Avatar
Claiming the NYT, despite all its flaws, is "the hate factory" is hyperbole to the extreme and shows that you aren't making a serious analysis of the situation.
Avatar
I agree. If you don't have anyone on the inside with a sympathetic ear, then you're going to find it much more difficult, if not impossible, to change an institution from the outside.

My favourite caption for that picture is still "But only one of these burgers contains the antidote, Mr. Bond."

It’s weird that the last few years have involved having to wrestle with the NYT and CNN being full of shit while People and Teen Vogue of all things are doing their job for them

When Teen Vogue is eating your lunch, you know you've fucked up.
