The anti-Trump conservatives at the NYT want the most conservative Democrat because they are conservative. It isn’t some 7 dimensional pro-Trump move. There are no Trump voters writing regular opinion columns for them (for good reason).

This is of course a comically stupid take but reminds me the opposite is what’s actually true. A tremendously useful feature of democracies generally is that leaders get to exit to a comfortable retirement on their estate rather than waiting nervously for a rival or former associate to murder them.

This thing is over. No matter the process, she's the nominee. Let's go win this thing.

Destroying Donald Trump in November doesn't defeat fascism. It doesn't destroy the GOP, or make the Democrats an unmitigated force for good.
But it does destroy Donald Trump, and nobody should underestimate how powerfully tens of millions of Americans want specifically to destroy Donald Trump.
I accept the decision the Democrats have made. They can’t force Biden to step aside and will salvage as many seats as they can and focus on the 2028 election. As long as Biden’s numbers don’t hurt the senate and congressional races too badly, it should be fine.
Feels like there's an energy around Harris that wasn't there for Biden and I say this as someone who said a swap was a bad idea, but just scrolling the socials, people are legit STOKED
Joe Manchin must seek the Democratic nomination for the office of president. The man that Democratic voters only know, if they know him at all, as the ancient and luridly corrupt coal dandy who casts the deciding vote against things they want, has a powerful vision for the future. And he can win.

The rapid endorsements have left very little space for any challenge to Kamala Harris. Have any of the governors jumped in with endorsements yet? Expecting glowing endorsements incoming from the prospective VPs.
The Clintons just endorsed Harris. If you're still worried she won't be the nominee, go take a bath without your phone. By the time you get out, the list of endorsees will be much, much longer.

Harris is a really strong candidate. She's got real energy, effortlessly positive vibes, can easily draw on the positive aspects of the current admin, have her own views to deviate from bits of the admin she isn't on board with, and she's running against one of the worst candidates in US history.
A lot of people on the left who have very valid objections to Harris are about to hold their nose and go all in on trying to save us from the alternative and it would be cool if the people who claim to be the reasoned moderates would act halfway as excited about her
Y’all are joking with the dooming and glooming right? Harris has somehow kept herself clean, locked down her team, and is almost certainly aware of what she’s being asked to do. We are about to have a woman at the top of the ticket in a post-Dobbs electorate. Stop crying and buck the fuck up!
Endorsement from Biden means this is locked in for Kamala. Mini primary would only drag out the process. Remember that it is Biden delegates who will be at the convention.
Honestly Kamala handled this situation perfectly. Not a whisper against Biden. And she’s been making great arguments against Trump and the republicans while fundraising for the election.
