I feel it's kind of concerning that you feel the need to post this to start with; you shouldn't have to, because I would hope it'd be obvious to people. Less people know, less they talk; less they talk, less danger everyone is in. Twice the pride, double the fall.

This rule is valid in Australia too. Back when I was arrested at 18 (for a non-crime, due to a dispute with my then landlord), the transcript of my interview at the station consisted of my name & address, & "no comment" to every other question. Not only was I acquitted, the judge told off the cops.

During my interview, the cop asked a bunch of harmless sounding questions that, had I answered them, would've technically made me a criminal.

"Where were you last night around 7:30?" "Ask your wife. I mean no comment."

A true story with drama, intrigue, strategy, and a happy ending!

As I was walking out of court, I saw one of the cops, & if looks could kill, I would've been a pair of smoking boots. Instead, I went to the pub across the street to celebrate with a few beers. lol

Yeah. If you can: phone and any other tracking tech is left at home. If you need a phone, buy a burner with cash and preload it with the lawyer numbers you need. Travel to the protest via mass transit using cash, not a card you bought with a CC. Etc.

Also with a burner phone, it is only ever powered on and activated once you’re at an event, never before. And once the event is over, dump it.
