In fairness to Alito “if liberals are rude it’s ok to support overthrowing the government” is as concise a distillation of trump era conservatism as you’ll ever see
Frank Wilhoit: “Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition …There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.
"If liberals are rude it's ok to support overthrowing the government" vs "if the conservatives support overthrowing the government, it's ok to be rude."
I think it'd be more accurate if you replaced "liberals are rude to us" with "we don't get what we want" or "everyone doesn't agree with the absolute rightness of our opinions" but yes
Sorry.
This seems to be a DQ from any position of power for the T's though - if being angry at your neighbors leads you to support insurrection, no one wants to see what happens when you have to make actual policy choices.
From the Times article about Mrs. Alito:
“The way the world is these days, Sam is by far not even close to being an imminent threat to civil liberties,” she said in the 2006 interview.
Gosh. What changed? He has been on the wrong side of so many civil rights cases.
And corruption and unfairness is also okay by conservatives, just as long as it is never applied to conservatives. Conservativism double standards; do to you, not to me bs. Impeach these traitors and corrupt crooks from govt. ... 1
Correct.
Also true:
“if liberals are rude it’s ok to support overthrowing the government” is as concise a distillation of BlueSky Communists as you’ll ever see.
