Sadly, they cast Kate Mulgrew as Mrs Columbo

They had to retcon it because showrunners realized it would make him a pedophile so her ex-husband in that show is not Columbo.

The irony is that Mulgrew is naturally on the thicker side. The problem isn't the casting but the fact that leading ladies are held to draconian body standards.
