Mostly agree except on reflection I feel like the three-day combo of the shooting, the Cannon decision, and the Vance pick was a powerful reminder of how miserable and exhausting it was to live with one goddamn thing after another when this guy had the spotlight for four straight years

I think Trump getting shot and being photographed with a defiant fist in the air, bloodied and unbowed, will actually lead to zero changed votes. He might be the only person in the universe that would be true of.

Trying not to read this too metaphorically

To be clear, the major problem was not that fans without tickets tried to rush the gates. That happens at any major event. It's that the organisers' response was to slam the gates shut on a line of thousands. Any English football fan will read this and scream "YOU FUCKING IDIOTS"

reading the transcript they are both incoherent. Trump can also just keep coming back to post birth abortion and murderous immigrants which don’t exist whereas presumably we would like Joe to say something more substantive if he could.

If you paid attention to Trump's side of the debate, he had the same underlying problem Biden did, where over and over he would start a sentence and realize he couldn't say or remember the words that would come next, but where Biden stalled out, Trump just switched to blurting something unrelated

Would of course help further delineate the distinction between the two if the ruling party and its leader were more forceful in their condemnation of anti-Palestinian racism in this country and also had foreign policy which indicates that they believe Palestinians to be equal to Jews.

Trump tells his rally crowd Chuck Schumer has “become a Palestinian.” Second time this week he’s used “Palestinian” to describe non-Palestinians he dislikes as if the word is a slur. I remain skeptical of the claim that Trump becoming president next year would improve the lives of Palestinians.
