you could definitely call him knut vibe, that's a legit name. vibe would be pronounced VEE-be and not have any umlaut. no other corrections, as your scandinavian sensitivity reader i can confirm the rest of the concept is sound and the aurora plays a significant part in investigations around here.
Not entirely fit the description, but there's "Trapped". The detective drives an old SUV and the way he solves crimes is by interviewing the potential suspects at their homes over a coffee in some small Icelandic towns

If you haven't seen The Minister yet, I heartily recommend it, I think it's the best I've ever seen him in anything (& I LOVED Trapped!) I'll have to go check out NOS4ATU as well 😁
He carries the book “The Secrets Of The Gnomes” everywhere he goes. He even sleeps with it. No one understands why, later in the show the reason why becomes a touching part of his character development, everyone watching it cries at the denouement
I dunno, I don trust them anymore, the last Nordic murder show turned out that the murders were caused by a virus from thawed snow and I was like this is not a murder show then, you damn nordics
