Do you think they spend even one second clarifying a workable definition of this so-called "gender ideology"? I'm guessing no. The reason why the boogeyman is scary is that no one actually knows what the boogeyman even is.

It's one of those catch-all terms that basically means "anything that's not unthinking adherence to patriarchal views of gender." Describing it as an "ideology" makes it sound scary and oppressive, in a way that "people living their dang lives" wouldn't.

Exactly. My son is not an "ideology". He's just a a rad MDiv student who sings in the choir and does volunteer knitting and makes comic iconography of queer saints. My nibling isn't an ideology- they're a talented artist and coder and pastry chef. The rightwing uses the term to blur humanity

They don’t *want* to define it because it needs to be able to encompass everything coming up that they do not like, and they can’t risk a definition not covering new targets for their hatred.

SEEN: Sex Equality & Equity Network has been astroterfed for many Professions. The journalism one is particularly scary. They’re also using Dignity (can’t remember exact org name) to crusade for Single Sex Healthcare. I’ve seen folk fooled by the positive words, like some of the early Women groups.

They sound disgusting. 🤢
