Child hunger should not exist. The food companies are applying the De Beers modus operandi of manufactured and fake rarity... Just funneling our obvious overproduction up to the top by denying everyone else human needs, which is to say: basic and fundamental human rights.

This isn't a "feel good" story. It describes a symptom of a collapsed society where individuals are expected to bear the responsibility for our failed social institutions. Not only should this not be an issue in the first place, but a fifth grader shouldn't ever have to worry about it.

Amazing how absolutely no one has stepped up and offered to reimburse this kid. Not even a GoFundMe that would end up making this kid whole 200x.
