John Oliver did a deep dive on Project 2025 tonight that should be required viewing. Frightening shit. Hasn't been posted on their YT channel yet, but it's a must watch. Great reporting.
Yup. As Oliver points out in the segment, even if they lose in November, it'll only become Project 2029. They never stopped over the last 50+ years and they've reaped a lot of what their unwavering persistence sowed.
If you are outside of the US, or have a VPN that *cough* allows you to travel outside the US, the full episode posts to his YouTube on Sunday evenings. If you are inside the US, the "main story" posts on Thursday, 5 days later.

Exactly. They are already implementing it in School Board, City Halls and other institutions across America and have been for well over a decade. Since before they picked Trump as their cult of personality leader.

It's almost funny that a group who claim to opposed "jihadism" are so eager to perform a religious purge of the country, instilling 'Christian' values into every aspect of life.
I watch him regularly, and it's true, he's even mentioned it a couple times. Years before starting the channel, he got caught forging immigration applications to bring people in from Eastern Europe to work seasonal resort jobs. He did 3 years in federal prison.
He ran a company that brought in eastern European women on false pretenses and forged visas, had them in the usual cramped conditions, he did his time in jail and this YouTube thing is what he has done since.
I'm mostly meh on it because people can reform and he served his time.

Anyone who's been paying attention to the Religious Right and its takeover of the GOP since the Reagan years. It's not surprising to me at all that the white evangelical right is making this last-ditch grab for power before demographics catch up with them.
It wins the Emmy every year and is one of the highest-rated shows they have. It may be cheap to make, versus big dramas.
Though, at Oliver's recent contract renewal Zaslav refused him the raise he wanted (more interesting as a sign than reason to worry for Oliver, gets $1 million per episode).

Seriously, been 🤢 for over a year on Project 2025. Oliver does fantastic research & funny delivery. I'll watch, and not enjoy.
