I just finished reading @tkingfisher.com ‘s Summer in Orcus and it’s such a delightful fairy tale. Each book of her’s that I read is at least as good as the one before.

Watching the British election returns I feel compelled to point out that the 650 person House of Commons represents 67 million people and the 435 person House of Representatives in the United States represents 333 million. Replace the Permanent Apportionment Act of 1929. We deserve representation.

Today’s #orchid bloom. It is labeled Masdevallia Bella ‘Highland Blush’. Which isn’t a registered hybrid. But it be a Masd. Bella Donna, but if so, it is the darkest one I can find online.

There are #rpg campaign that you want to run, there are rpg campaign that your players want to play, and there are rpg campaign that you can actually play. The three are not the same. One day I will get to run The Persephone Extraction fully, but today is not that day.

One of the consistently weird things about D&D and worldbuilding is that each magic using class is weird and interesting enough that they could be the centerpiece of magic in a really interesting setting, but the necessity of jamming them all into one setting demands it be a mess.

This giant #orchid was donated to the society last week and I’m still trying to decide what to do with it. I can barely lift it. Fortunately I have a hand truck. It’s a Dendrobium kingianum hybrid and smells divine. (About 4’ across and 3’ tall). Fortunately it grows well outside here.

Just “picked up” an orchid donated to the society. Picked up, is not actually right, I cannot begin to lift this. Dendrobium kingianum or hybrid. At first i thought it was a speciosum and worth thousands of dollars, but it’s simply an amazing kingianum. #orchids
