just finished my rewatch. it's so sad and beautiful ugh :( need to collect my thoughts, but i love how expressive and unique the animation is, how the narrative feels like an older relative passing on an old fable sensitive and magical we're lucky this movie exists

okay not only do i think this is the best Studio Ghibli film, i think it's maybe tied for my favorite animated movie of all time

missing my cousins my cousin jonathan (little guy in the white shirt and bluejeans) died a couple years ago every summer we'd visit long island and play video games and listen to music and eat snacks from down the block now everyone's scattered around the country thx for all the good hangs
